In keeping with its commitment to sport, the Maison has worked closely with the rugby legend to create an exclusive boot designed to store sports equipment.
A unique object that showcases LV‘s nearly 160 years of expertise through unparalleled craftsmanship using premium wood, iconic Monogram Eclipse canvas and metal details, fastenings and rivets previously seen on historic trunks. In a sleek, minimalist design, the colours on the outside are reminiscent of the New Zealand rugby team. In addition, different logos and numbers have been included to represent Dan Carter: his jersey number DC10 and the number of points he has scored in international matches (1598).
Designed to store all kinds of sporting equipment, the boot’s interior is lined with a special microfibre and fabric lining that holds some of the sportsman’s most precious memorabilia such as his three Rugby Player of the Year awards; three Rugby World Cup medals or his two commemorative caps celebrating his 100 caps, among many others.
“To mark the 2023 Rugby World Cup in France, we wanted to create something truly special,” says Carter. “This boot contains all the items that symbolise the incredible memories I have of my time playing professional rugby, while paying homage to Louis Vuitton’s renowned ‘Art de Voyage’. I really can’t think of a better way to display them,” he adds.
