Louis Vuitton will hold the runway show of its Cruise 2025 collection in Barcelona on 23 May 2024, in partnership with the Catalan capital to accompany the 37th Louis Vuitton America’s Cup, which will start in Barcelona in August 2024 and will be preceded by the Louis Vuitton Cup, a preliminary qualifying competition.

Combining tradition and innovation, and with the “art of travel” as part of its DNA, Louis Vuitton has staged its Cruise shows in different locations around the world, always paying homage to local art and culture. In recent years, the Maison has paraded in iconic locations of great architectural significance such as the John Lautner-designed home of Bob & Dolores Hope in Palm Springs, Oscar Niemeyer’s Museum of Contemporary Art in Niteroi, I.M. Pei’s Miho Museum near Kyoto, the Salk Institute in California or Isola Bella on Lake Maggiore, among others. The last stop on Louis Vuitton’s journey in the Catalan capital will transport its attendees to one of Europe’s most vibrant and dynamic cities.

“It is an immense pleasure to collaborate with Barcelona, a city that like Louis Vuitton has a deep-rooted heritage and an extraordinary passion for creativity. The Cruise runway show, which encapsulates the vision of Nicolas Ghesquière, Creative Director of the Women’s Collections, as well as the upcoming Louis Vuitton Cup and the 37th Louis Vuitton America’s Cup will undoubtedly epitomise a long relationship between Louis Vuitton and the city,” says Pietro Beccari, Creative Director of the Women’s Collections. – says Pietro Beccari, President and CEO of Louis Vuitton.

In addition to the fashion show, Louis Vuitton will celebrate the LV Cup and the 37th edition of the America’s Cup in Barcelona with a programme that will include multiple events, an exhibition and other cultural activations with guests from around the world. The Maison will take advantage of this unique occasion to present its eagerly awaited Barcelona Travel Guide in a pop-up kiosk. Barcelona and Louis Vuitton are also working on a series of educational programmes to support creativity and design in the city.

Louis Vuitton’s relationship with Barcelona dates back to the early 20th century, when the Maison played an active role in the 1929 Barcelona International Exhibition, which brought together industry, art and innovation. Georges Vuitton, Louis Vuitton’s son, was not only on the jury, but was also awarded a prize for his boots for carrying toiletries. Louis Vuitton chose the city of Barcelona to open its first shop in Spain in 1987 and currently has two stores in the Catalan capital.
