Basketball is not just a sport. It’s a lifestyle. That’s why German brand CMC has teamed up with PUMA to design a series of high-end trainers that pay homage to American basketball.
This reunion comes four years after its first release featuring PUMA‘s iconic Suede. Now, we’re talking about a more ambitious project that seeks to capture the charisma and euphoria of basketball. To do so, they’ll enlist the help of Mikey Williams, recruited as a triple-double for the global campaign.
The collection will be divided into three drops. The first will arrive on September 8th with the Show Love silhouette. This is a unique MCM edition of the PUMA Slipstream Lo, a court classic that has been reinvented and embellished with Visetos Monogram cognac highlights, Haus‘ long-lasting signature. Show Up, designed with black and white details and featuring MCM‘s eye-catching Cubic Monogram, will be released in October. Finally, the third release will take place in the first half of 2023 and will feature a luminous version of PUMA‘s TRC Blaze Court model.
“The love story between luxury and sport is clearly visible in this second collaboration with MCM in which the classic details of both brands are visible in the design and construction,” says Heiko Desens, Global Creative Director of PUMA, “The first time we worked together it was an instant success. I’m sure it will happen again. We’re all excited about what’s to come,” he adds.
Remember, from tomorrow you will be able to find the first PUMA x MCM release through the MCM Worldwide website.
