Mauna Kea FW21 channels the spirit of rare animals

Mauna Kea presents its latest Autumn/Winter 2021 collection, entitled “Rare Animals”, which encourages the deeper connection between humans and the Earth.

The collection launch is divided into three chapters inspired by the characteristics of three specific animals that shape the spirit of the Italian label. From the Siberian tiger’s connection to its environment and its territorial pride, to the Koi carp’s ability to swim against the current, to the elegant, yet strong red deer aka “King of the forest”.

The 100-piece collection, made in Italy, consists of outerwear, hoodies, T-shirts and accessories with eye-catching embroidery. The colour palette is achieved with the “Spry and Dye” technique that channels its surf heritage.

Handmade in the brand’s Florentine laboratories, this method creates an effect that evokes the tones of nature, as well as an animal print inspired by the collection’s theme. Standout pieces from the latest drop include a leather overshirt and two-tone hoodie, as well as a bomber jacket.
