MM6 Maison Margiela reinterprets its icons in patchwork

To complete her latest proposal, Margiela’s MM6 line reissues her classics inspired by the patchwork aesthetic.

MM6 Maison Margiela has announced the launch of “Patchwork Upcycled”. This is a limited edition that will be part of its Spring/Summer 2021 collection.

To complement its latest collection, Maison Margiela’s contemporary line has decided to update its basics in terms of patchwork. In this way, the spring/summer 2021 collection will be joined by three models of footwear —inspired by her iconic boots— and the re-edition of her classic Japanese handbag.

The articles in this exclusive capsule take shape through the leftover fabrics from previous seasons. This technique is nothing new, as it maintains the commitment to sustainability that characterizes the brand. Upcycling is part of Margiela’s DNA and the patchwork aesthetic that inspires this launch has been achieved by preserving, cutting out and assembling the remnants.

Both the shoes and the bag are limited editions and also fit perfectly with the firm’s proposal for next season. In addition, the geometry and the mixture of neutral tones are the hallmarks that are perceived in both cases.

This drop will be available from January 15th in MM6 stores, online and in selected points of sale.
