The brand has posted an ad on Instagram featuring a director’s chair with the inscription “Pretty Little Thing designed by Naomi Campbell”. In the comments, many followers have expressed their disappointment by questioning the decision and criticizing the brand’s unethical practices.
Used to seeing the top model working with Chanel, Versace, Balenciaga and many other luxury houses, we definitely did not expect this collaboration with Pretty Little Thing. Campbell has often supported emerging designers and participated in sustainable and labor rights causes, yet PLT has been criticized on several occasions for greenwashing and poor working conditions.
While we know that collaborations in the fashion industry can offer great financial benefits, this partnership has baffled many considering the supermodel’s previous support of independent designers and charities.
