Inspired by Amy Winehouse’s original designs for the British brand, the collaboration has the British music legend at its core. After 11 years of this union, they now present a collection in which the key pieces that marked their beginnings are reissued.
For its latest collection in collaboration with the Foundation, Fred Perry is once again bringing back the late singer’s signature sport and pin-up style. On this occasion, the London-based label takes its inspiration from the uniforms of American diners in the 1950s.
This inspiration can be seen in the collection’s star pieces: the polo shirt and bomber jacket. The polo shirt features stylistic details that draw on the most American pin-up reference. The same goes for the bomber jacket, an icon and irreverence of the era.
Both garments have been embroidered on the back with the lyrics “I told you I was trouble” from the song “You Know I’m not good”, released in 2007 by the star. In addition, the Fred Perry x Amy Winehouse Foundation line plays with the use of pink and satin black to celebrate her eleven years.
Exclusive pieces that coexist with the essentials of this historic collaboration: polo shirts and dresses originally designed by Amy Winehouse, but updated. All the garments are embroidered with two small hearts in reference to her tattoos.
Fred Perry continues its collaboration with the Amy Winehouse Foundation, contributing through donations with each collection to help young women rehabilitate from addiction problems. You can already get your hands on the garments on the brand’s website.
