The incident occurred this Saturday at Amsterdam-Schiphol International Airport, while the artist was on her way to Manchester (UK). After a baggage search, the singer was charged and arrested for alleged possession of soft drugs. The rapper claims she spent ‘five or six hours sitting in a cell’ and had to cancel a planned concert in Manchester on Saturday.
Videos recorded by the rapper show her being told by an officer that she is being detained for drug possession and will be taken to a police station, while the rapper tries to deny the allegation. After an initial search, they asked to examine all of Minaj’s luggage in more detail. ‘They said they found marijuana and that another group of people have to come here to weigh the pre-rolls,’ Minaj told her fans, to whom she has been completely transparent about the incident.
‘They succeeded in their plan to not let me on stage tonight. I managed to get to the root of it all by filming them and posting [on social media] everything in real time. I have lots and lots of video evidence. I’ll have the lawyers and God take care of it here,‘ Nicki Minaj says in another part of her social media post, in which she also claims that they are trying to boycott her success,’ she later stated. Finally, after consulting with the prosecutor, Nicky Minaj was able to continue her journey to the UK after paying a financial penalty placed in her name.
