Nike sues StockX for selling NFT of its sneakers

Stockx had announced a series of NFTs of Nike’s most iconic models. The Oregon-based giant has called it “a scam.” 

Nike has filed a lawsuit against StockX, for offering NFT of the American company’s sneakers. The lawsuit has been filed in federal court in New York and picked up by The Fashion Law.

The NFTs sold by StockX are “a scam” because they do not have legal authorization from the company. Nike believes that StockX are “thieves taking advantage of some of the world’s most famous symbols without authorization”.

It should be recalled that Nike recently introduced its own metaverse: Nikeland.
