Drake and Nike have officially announced their new collaborative line called NOCTA. The new sub-label is inspired by the singer’s creative process at night and the underground fashion of Toronto, London and Paris.
Although only a few images of the new collection have been revealed, NOCTA has captivated us with its padded jackets and tonal-coloured sweatshirts, available in yellow or black. The feathers have the brand name on the chest and a black “CL” on the back. What is likely to be a nod to Certified Lover Boy, the merchandising line Nike created for Drake.
Drake x Nike marks a new chapter for the Canadian, who signed with Jordan Brand in 2013. In this way, he was able to work on memorable collaborations such as Air Jordan 10, Air Jordan 12 and more through his OVO label. In 2018 he came close to signing a deal with Adidas, but it never came off because of his famous fight with Trefoil team member Pusha-T.
Over the next few years, the rapper has been seen frequently in Nike clothing and even sat next to the brand’s CEO, John Donahoe, at the Future Sport Forum in February 2020. The artist is a lover of the sports brand and adds a new success to his career with this new collaboration. In addition, he is rumored to launch a collaborative OVO Air Force 1 2021.
