Omar Apollo shares first preview of his upcoming album

The singer-songwriter nominated for a Latin Grammy for Best New Artist in 2023 experiments with sounds to a degree that few others dare. With R&B as his base, the artist diversifies his influences into funk, pop, electronica, hip hop and even reggaeton. Listening to Stevie Wonder and Brandy as a child, plucking a guitar later and releasing his own EPs as a youngster, the Mexican singer has gone on to establish his own metamorphic style that has taken half the world by storm.

Following the success of his debut album ‘Ivory’, Omar Apollo releases ‘Spite’ the first preview of his forthcoming album. The single comes with a music video directed by Bandiz. In Spite, Apollo struggles with the frustrations he feels towards a romantic partner: “Spite is a song about a long distance relationship and wanting to show the other person that you’re fine without them, even if you feel like you need them. It’s a song about being angry about not being able to have someone just for yourself.
