Paco Rabanne celebrates youth in its FW22 collection

Held on the eve of Paris Haute Couture week, Paco Rabanne’s autumn/winter 2022 collection was inspired by the teenage years against a backdrop of pastel colours.

“We talked in the studio about when you’re still a teenager and your parents won’t let you go out at night, but you’re dreaming about what it will be like when you can go out. That moment when you’re having fun creating your own identity. I mean, we all remember doing that in childhood and adolescence, going to your room for hours, days and years with your siblings and dressing up in your father’s coat, your mother’s jewellery,” the designer explains.

Pouffe skirts, peplum tops and low-heeled shoes dominated the FW22 runway show. Design highlights included knitted midriffs combined with little bubble skirts; as well as mesh dresses with asymmetry; or skirts with bows at the back. Powdery colours along with black and shiny tones completely invaded Paris Fashion Week.
