Pirelli unveils its 2022 calendar entitled “On the Road”

The most awaited calendar returns after the 2020 break with photos of some of the most relevant musicians of the last decades. Bryan Adams has been in charge of capturing great stars such as Cher, Rita Ora, St, Vincent or Kali Uchis, Jennifer Hudson, among many others. 

 

After the hiatus due to the pandemic, Pirelli’s annual calendar, known as “The Cal”, is back with a very special edition featuring Cher, Grimes, Jennifer Hudson, Normani, Rita Ora, Bohan Phoenix, Iggy Pop, St. Vincent and Kali Uchis. In addition, Canadian musician Bryan Adams signs the photographs for the 2022 version, which returns under the title On the Road.

More than 160 pages and 70 portraits in which the performers relive some of the moments of their tours, from the tension before a concert to the long road trips travelling from one city to another. “On the road is where I’ve been for the last 45 years, because a musician’s life is made up of roads, journeys, waiting in hotels, hours on stage”.

“This calendar will mark the months of a year that is particularly important for us, because we are celebrating Pirelli’s 150th anniversary,” explains Marco Tronchetti Provera, Executive Vice President and CEO of Pirelli. In addition, for the first time in history, the photographer himself is part of the cast of models, Bryan Adams is the image of the month of December.

Since 1964, this calendar has marked a before and after in contemporary culture and has even come to set the next trends. With images by the most acclaimed photographers, we have been able to enjoy the most spectacular landscapes on the planet and the most relevant stars of the moment, breaking with the taboos dictated by the fashion industry.
