That 2018 was going to be Prada‘s year, we had it very clear, and the only thing the Italian brand has done in Milan is to help confirm it. Its FW18 proposal, for her, has driven us crazy.
The winter collection of 2018 alludes to the futurism that connects with neon colours and all this without losing even a hint of femininity and elegance. Colors such as green, pink or orange as opposed to a black catwalk toured the “circuit” showing the new and wonderful creation of Miuccia. The luminous neon signs with allusions to King Kong, bananas or dinosaurs completed a staging that impressed all attendees.
The energy of the fluoride colors invaded: bucket hats, padded vests, shoes and anoraks inspired by the “force of women who go out on the street in the midst of violence“. “My dream is for women to go out on the street, feeling strong and fearless“, said Miuccia Prada at backstage.
Not everything was color, the sobriety of Prada was represented in black and camel looks that gave that classic touch that was corrupted with exaggerated patterns and “risky” cuts.
A proposal in which the footwear took all the looks, the Prada’s “tags” took the attention and the feeling of belonging stole our hearts. All this, together with the oversize and the above-mentioned colour, sent a very clear message: freedom.
