Pyrex Vision by Virgil Abloh returns with Denim Tears

The late Virgil Abloh’s pre-Off-White label, Pyrex Vision, returns thanks to Tremaine Emory, founder of Denim Tears.

The resurrection of the late Virgil Abloh’s pre-Off-White label, Pyrex Vision, is not only a tribute to the designer’s early beginnings, but the way in which Tremaine Emory has brought it back perfectly reflects the cultural movements that streetwear has sparked over the past few decades.

In 2011 Virgil Abloh launched his first designer label under the name Pyrex Vision. The creative bought clothes from Ralph Lauren and then printed his designs and sold them at a high price. Pyrex Vision became popular among different artists from the American music scene such as Asap Rocky, Kanye West and Jay Z.

In addition to custom Polo Ralph Lauren rugby shirts, many will remember the brand for the sweatshirt from Caravaggio’s The Burial of Christ. Now Pyrex Vision has been revived by designer and creative consultant Tremaine Emory, founder of Denim Tears, co-founder of No Vacancy and creative director of none other than Supreme.

Emory has overlaid this PYREX VISION/Denim Tears collaboration with references to Caravaggio’s The Burial of Christ, as well as updating the “23” to “45”, a nod to Michael Jordan’s return to the game. Not much more information has been released, but through the designer’s social networks we have been able to see the first images of this collaboration.
