Schiaparelli Fall 21 and Daniel Roseberry’s ode to bullfighting

Daniel Roseberry is once again shaking up the fashion industry with his latest couture collection for Schiaparelli, called “The Matador”.

French fashion house Schiaparelli, founded by Elsa Schiaparelli, has been one of the brands that for some time has remained in the background. But it seems that the situation has changed, since the signing of the American designer, Daniel Roseberry, has restored the importance that the brand required, thanks in part to his impressive creations, which perfectly reflect the passion that the designer feels for the world of art.

After working for 11 years for the American designer Thom Browne, it wasn’t until 2019 that Roseberry took the place he deserved, as that same year he was named creative director of Schiaparelli. From that moment on, Daniel began to revolutionise the fashion industry with his “arty” designs and, as expected, celebrities began to fall in love with his creations. Celebrities like Beyoncé, Kim Kardashian, Lady Gaga or Bella Hadid.

And speaking of revolution, that is precisely what the designer has once again achieved with his latest Couture 2021 collection, presented in digital format during Paris Fashion Week. Named “The Matador”, we can see how this collection has certain references to the world of bullfighting and its costumes. By focusing on craftsmanship, Daniel manages to reflect these references, thanks to the embroidery and golden appliqués that many of the designs have.

Among the pieces in this collection, we have to highlight the bomber jackets full of appliqués, the dresses with flowers or XL ruffles or the evening dresses, worthy of being real museum pieces. Finally, we couldn’t finish this article without mentioning the accessories, and more specifically the earrings. What do you think of this latest Schiaparelli collection?
