Irish fashion designer Simone Rocha was one of the latest designers to present her latest Spring/Summer 22 collection during London Fashion Week (LFW). Dubbed as one of the designers of the moment, Simone held her latest show in the medieval church of St Bartholomew the Great, which fitted perfectly with her latest creations, as many were inspired by the postnatal moment and the way children interpret and wear clothes, from baptism to communion.
Dressed in layers of white broderie anglaise, lace and tulle and emerging from the darkest darkness, the models gradually appeared, their shoulders wrapped in christening shawls or their legs covered in voluminous skirts with satin ribbons. The finishing touch to the looks was provided by crowns or tiaras made of pearls.
On this occasion and to celebrate her return to the catwalks since February 2020, Simone wanted her garments to have a lot of texture, because as we have just said, this was her comeback and she wanted the guests to enjoy the garments up close. Finally, we have to make a special mention to her lavender and floral brocade coats, which resembled or simulated the classic quilts, and we can’t forget the red and black vinyl jackets combined with lace-up boots.
