A blend of ingenuity and craftsmanship, highlighting the fashion house’s commitment to sustainability, has resulted in a limited edition worthy of collectors.
The new Flamenco Surplus is made from surplus leather from previous collections collected by LOEWE‘s artisans, who have cut and compacted sections of leather before cutting each panel. This technique involves removing thin layers of the surface to reveal undulating, striking layers of colour reminiscent of rock strata or topographical illustrations.
This further emphasises the peculiar shape of the Flamenco, inspired by the effect of the flamenco skirt that emerges when its rolled knots are pulled to close the bag. First introduced in the 1980s, it is easily mouldable and can be carried as a clutch, shoulder bag or cross-body bag.
The launch of the Flamenco Surplus was celebrated today, 13 June, and is now available in Casa LOEWE stores and on the official website in four colour combinations: Pale Yellow/Apple Green, Mink/Caribbean Blue, Light Celadon/Prugna and Avocado/Pearl Grey.
