The Athleisure trend: from 2016 to today

From the HIGHXTAR. team we review the evolution of the Athleisure trend from its boom in 2016 to the present day.

Trends come and go, and personally it’s time to say goodbye to Y2K. However, what started as a sportswear-inspired trend is now a category in its own right: athleisure, and this season it’s back. The general essence of the look is casual and comfortable, but in recent years high fashion has adopted and adapted it in many ways.

The athleisure trend has made it fashionable to wear sportswear in your everyday life, not just when you go to the gym. This style of dress has ambassadors such as Kendall Jenner, Hailey Bieber and Gigi Hadid. A dress code that celebrities have been following since time immemorial and that luxury brands have been including in their collections for years. We review the evolution of this trend from its boom in 2016 to the present day.
