The first collaboration between Maharishi and Reebok is inspired by military design

Reebok and London-based streetwear brand Maharishi have just announced their first collaboration. In it, they bring Maharishi’s military-inspired design to one of Reebok’s most iconic models: the Classic Leather Legacy AC.

Founded in 1994 by Hardy Blechman, Maharishi is defined by its “pacifist military design” aesthetic and a focus on developing practical, durable products with a strong personality. For his first collaboration with Reebok, Maharishi has applied this approach to the Classic Leather Legacy AZ. A modern reinterpretation of the legendary Classic Leather timeless running silhouette, it takes elements from the Aztec II, another Reebok archive model, and adapts them with contemporary shapes and materials.

“The Classic Leather Legacy AZ has a futuristic, modern look while retaining that essence that makes it an iconic shoe,” explains Maharishi. “Our design style is primarily based on the exploration of duality, so this shoe, a design classic updated with an ultra-modern sensibility, fits perfectly with our philosophy.”

This model is inspired by US Army flight suits and uniforms, and features a nylon upper reminiscent of military jackets with contrasting black ripstop panels. These reference the olive and black patches used on traditional camouflage uniforms. In addition, 3M reflective details have been included for increased visibility. All set on an iconic caramel-coloured rubber sole.

The Maharishi x Reebok Classic Leather Legacy AZ is now available exclusively at MaharishiStore.com. It will launch globally at Reebok.com and select retailers starting June 17.
