After having to cancel their 2020 event as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic, the Primavera Sound festival has successfully held a COVID-safe event in Barcelona. The result… Its time to party.
Titled PRIMACOV, the special test event took place in the Sala Apolo – with capacity for 1600 people – and welcomed 1,042 attendees who were able to taste the sounds of the local DJs. Using rapid tests that give results in 15 minutes, each attendee had to test negative before access was granted.
In a press release, PRIMACOV stated that the objective of the rehearsal was “to validate this type of test as an extremely useful tool to be able to carry out any type of event, whether musical or not, without social distancing”.
This news comes a few days after the 100 Club of London announced that next month it would install a new ventilation system designed to combat 99.99 percent of airborne coronavirus pathogens.
This is very good news, we hope that soon governments will take notice of these initiatives that can help recover one of the sectors most affected by the pandemic. We say yes to this system.
