Glenn Martens has transformed Diesel and that’s an absolute truth. A large part of this reinvention is down to the fashion brand’s ability to make the most of the Y2K aesthetic. Now, one of its icons, the 1DR bag, returns this summer in different colour combinations.
Diesel’s 1DR bag is an example of how the label’s “it” accessory combines the label’s avant-garde edge with hints of early 2000s nostalgia. Its success has prompted Diesel to launch new shades for this season and has opened pre-orders for its FW22 collection and, in doing so, has doubled down on the ’90s fantasy.
Available in full size or the extra small iteration, the 1DR bag is available in a range of colours that are sure to match anyone’s style. From a mini bag in black or white, which makes up the more monochrome and formal part of this release, to the more daring silver or chrome blue iteration.
No matter which colour you choose, each 1DR bag features the Diesel “D” logo enamelled in metal on the front. On the inside, you’ll find an oversized leather logo patch, while the closure is magnetic. Each 1DR has its own personality.
