The Andalucia Big cultural project, promoted by the Junta de Andalucía and Mad Cool Festival, was presented yesterday in Malaga. It is organised in collaboration with Malaga City Council with the aim of becoming the biggest cultural event in Andalusia. The proposal includes a fair for professionals in the music sector; a programme of concerts in the Andalusian provinces, in collaboration with their respective city councils; and an international music festival in the city of Malaga.
Andalucia Big Festival will take place on Sacaba beach on 8, 9 and 10 September this year. It will feature more than fifty national and international artists. Among them, the first confirmed names include Muse, Jamiroquai (in his only concert in Europe), Vetusta Morla, Nova Twins, Sylvie Kreusch and Morgan. It will have three stages with a varied and eclectic musical programme for all audiences; pop, indie, rock, electronic and new trends with top artists; as well as emerging talent that will make the event a unique experience.
In addition, Andalucia Live is the project that aims to promote music venues in the rest of the autonomous region. It will do so with a programme of concerts that will take place in the weeks prior to the festival and will pass through several Andalusian provinces.
AMF: Andalucia Music Forum will be an international fair for music industry professionals that aims to become the most important professional meeting point in Southern Europe. A forum that will provide direct networking opportunities and aims to be a space where to unify goals and objectives of the sector.
AMF will be a high-level meeting of the national music industry with the most important representatives of the industry in three days of meetings, panels, masterclasses, presentations, mentoring programme and music. It will undoubtedly be the most important professional meeting in Southern Europe prior to autumn and winter. AMF was created to promote the development and evolution of the music industry and to create business opportunities.
The Paideia Galiza Foundation and EOI also join Andalucia Music Forum with its project to promote emerging music by professionals in the sector. The programme will be held at the Interactive Museum of Music in Malaga.
The Andalucia Big project is the brainchild of Mad Cool Festival, whose spokespeople say they are “very happy to be able to promote music in Andalusia with such a unique and complete project, which promotes music in all corners and at all levels”.
The vice-president of the Junta and the regional minister for Tourism, Regeneration, Justice and Local Administration, Juan Marín, stressed that this initiative “will give international projection to the Andalusia brand and involve the eight provinces”. Marín stressed that the festival “singles out the destination and distinguishes it from its competitors”, as this type of major musical event of global importance “brings national and international prestige”.
The event aims to be a new social, cultural and economic engine for Andalusia. A new way of internationalising the brand, through quality tourism that will enjoy the music and all the activities linked to the enjoyment of the southern area, the climate, the gastronomic and touristic offer of the area…
