To mark the 25th anniversary of the Air Max 97 silhouette, Nike is preparing to restock some of the most iconic colours, such as the ‘Silver Bullet’.
The model, which was born in 1997, was designed by Christian Tresser after finding inspiration in the ripples of a pond. Simulating this movement caused by water, he placed 3M reflective overlays on the mesh base and padded tongue that make up the shoe. A characteristic element of the Air Max 97 is the visible Air cushioning, which appeared in full for the first time.
According to Tresser, the iconic “Silver Bullet” shade was inspired by “the metal-on-metal finishes such as aluminium and polished titanium found on mountain bike components of the era”.
In addition to this colourway, the “Atlantic Blue” is also rumoured to be available again for 2022. If you don’t want to miss any details about this relaunch, we recommend you to stay tuned to our website.
