The Renaissance Women of Chanel Métiers d’Art 20/21

Chanel displays the iconic Métiers d’Art 20/21 parade at the Château de Chenonceau, amidst romantic and Renaissance craftsmanship.

This time, the french house displays the iconic Métiers d’Art parade in the French Château de Chenonceau. Virgine Viard directs this romantic episode starring the Renaissance woman, between artisan goldsmithing and an idyllic imagination captured by the lens of Juergen Teller. Welcome to a 16th century in which women do take on a leading role.

Chanel Métiers d'Art 20/21

The ladies of the Renaissance, so admired by Coco Chanel, now wear the haute couture garments that Viard translates into a contemporary key. A nostalgic show in which the garments blend with the stage and its infinite possibilities, seen live by the only spectator, the ambassador of the brand Kristen Stewart.

Femininity and classic beauty weave this story that showcases a line of reinvented pieces from the Chanel archive. Thus, we find quilted jackets, coats in tweed or evening dresses in beading and feathers that revive that court fashion. A palette of dark tones with gothic details dyes the general proposal, between brushstrokes of light through floral embroideries, prints, or tweed layers.
