The Vivendi collective returns with a collection inspired by the 90s

The Nigerian fashion collective Vivendi is back in business after receiving a grant from the Metallic Fund. Based in Lagos and London, the brand has just launched a new collection inspired by the nineties, the Tekken and the classic Windows solitaire. In addition, they have opened their own online store to hang and promote their products.

 

The Nigerian fashion collective Vivendi is back in business after receiving a grant from the Metallic Fund. Based in Lagos and London, the brand has just launched a new collection inspired by the nineties, the Tekken and the classic Windows solitaire. In addition, they have opened their own online store to hang and promote their products.

The collective, formed by Jimmy Ayeni, Ola Badiru and Anthony Oye, began as a group of bloggers in 2011. Soon, their work was pleasantly recognized by the late editor-in-chief of Vogue Italy, Franca Sozzani, who encouraged them to form their own brand. However, after the success of their collection for FW19, the group decided to pause their work to focus on music.

Last September, Vivendi received the “Metallic Fund“, an initiative created by Grace LaDoja and Alex Sossah to offer financial support to black creatives. In total, the group won a grant of $27,000 USD, which allowed them to launch their new online store.

The website has been designed following the classic format of the Windows Solitaire game. They have also introduced the aesthetics of the arcade game Tekken. The result is a multidisciplinary page with a section for buying their new collection, links to different distributors, as well as a page dedicated to the music channel of the collective: Vivendi Sound.

The collection itself continues with the previous proposals and focuses on T-shirts and sweatshirts with the printed logo and a new line of bags.
