Versace looks to the future with Mercury M_VS_01

The Italian fashion house’s new sneakers symbolise versatility and innovation.

Made from premium calfskin leather, they feature a complex sci-fi inspired upper structure with up to 86 different interlocking components. Each pair includes 16 metres of crocheted rope hand-woven by Versace‘s artisans, who spend three hours on this intricate process.

All of this sits on an imposing but lightweight EVA rubber outsole decorated with shiny metallic details on the heel, tongue and eyelets, as well as a printed ribbon with the iconic Greca jacquard motif.

The new Versace Mercury M_VS_01 has been designed in two colourways: black and white. There are also two limited edition iterations: one featuring rhinestone appliqués and the other with a silver and gold base and a knotted system at the top. All options will go on sale on 4 June on the official Versace website and in selected boutiques around the world.
