Virgil Abloh and Jacob & Co. raise banality

After the launch of their first “Office Supplies” jewelry collection, Virgil Abloh and Jacob & Co. are back with a second wave of luxury items. Inspired once again by the simple object of the paper clip, the duo elevates the notion of banality with a new line sold to order, produced in 18-carat white, yellow or pink gold.

About what the collection means to him, Abloh came to Instagram to explain himself:

“[The collection] is a concept for fine jewelry I developed and have been sitting on for a while now…It’s all cryptic & metaphoric but that’s as much of the concept as the adolescent idea of making a paperclip bracelet in grade school meets the blinding aspirational quality of a Rocafella chain. It’s my whole art practice in one object.”
