There is no denying that Virgil Abloh is a multifaceted creator. Architect, fashion designer, entrepreneur, DJ and artistic director of Louis Vuitton and Off-White™. Now the artist is collaborating with Pioneer to launch a capsule collection and a DJ controller.
As a means to give a new look to the industry standard of CDJs and DJMs, Virgil Abloh set out to design a transparent, label-free version of the classic models to inspire a different sound while DJing. And perhaps a new way to achieve a different result by combining music technology and human interaction.
In addition to the DJ controller, there is a collection called “Sound Engineering”. The capsule includes T-shirts, hoodies and a baseball bag made of cotton canvas. “Sound Engineering” is full of graphics printed with fluorescent green ink. The colours and aesthetics are inspired by Off-White™’s past, both on the garments and on the Pioneer DDJ-1000-OW.
The DJ capsule collection will be available in the Off-White ™ brand’s online shop and exclusive shops worldwide. As for the DJ controller, it is available to purchase exclusively through a raffle on the Selfridges app, which is open from 9 a.m. BST on July 15 until 12 p.m. BST. M.
