Virgil and Simon Brown exhibit new merch for “Figures of Speech”

After gaining enormous success with his recent hometown exhibition, Abloh has teamed up with graphic designer Simon Brown (@andandltd) to develop a series of t-shirts and hooded sweatshirts now available in MCA Chicago’s store.

When we talk about Virgil Abloh we talk about a never not creating artist. To his Creative Director role for Louis Vuitton and his streetwear brand Off-White, he adds his work in the furniture industry through his IKEA collab and into the sneaker game alongside sportswear giant Nike. If this is not enough, the MCA of Chicago is exhibiting these days his participation in all the design manifestations he’s been involved in his career. And this came with merch. Obviously.

After gaining enormous success with his recent hometown exhibition, Abloh has teamed up with graphic designer Simon Brown (@andandltd) to develop a series of t-shirts and hooded sweatshirts now available in MCA Chicago’s store. The collection includes signature graphics from Brown and clear references to Virgil’s Off-White’s iconography.

In addition to this, the American multitalented creative has joined forces with MCA Chicago (@mcachicago) itself in the release of a t-shirt that brings back the PYREX (@pyrexvision23) era with a frame of its first video lookbook printed on the chest of a Champion tee with mixed graphics from Virgil’s past and present on the back.

If the first drop of “Figures of Speech” apparel arrived in pretty affordable prices ($48 to $67) this new capsule comes with higher price tags, in the range of the street-meets-luxury brand he’s head of ($150 to $660). It’s gonna be hard to put your hands in these pieces.

Virgil Abloh has become the Kurt Cobain of design.
