Shane Gonzales’ counter-cultural brand, Midnight Rave, premieres the second part of its autumn-winter 2021 collection that takes us to a post-punk rave.

The second drop of the FW21 capsule once again draws on the distinctive “when punk-meets-streetwear” design codes of Midnight Rave, which fuses fashion and music in a single anarchic concept. Hence Shane was inspired, beyond the clubber scene, by a Los Angeles rave held on 10 December to envision and shake up this series.

The punk-rock aesthetic of the late seventies is now revived in a range of sweatshirts, joggers, shorts and graphic tees that sow revolution through messages such as “god is a DJ” and “listen, see, destroy”. Gonzales has also collaborated with Japanese artist Dying in Kyoto to create the anime characters that inject fantasy into some of the pieces.

 

A palette of neutral colours dresses up the winter collection, between whites, blacks and dark greys, altered by bursts of electric blue, teal or cobalt blue.
