Vans launches a silhouette never seen before after a process of creative and technological experimentation. The EVDNT UltimateWaffle lands to revolutionise the sneaker industry with a cutting-edge construction that defines the expression of any look.
The Californian brand continues to innovate with this new lifestyle silhouette based on Vans Skateboarding technology. Its translucent outsole lets us see the future through, while its integrated UltraCush™ sockliner with an internal stabilizing shank offers enhanced cushioning and support.
The EVDNT features a LuxLiner interior that hugs the foot like a sock, creating the perfect fit and increasing functionality. The breathable woven mesh upper also contributes to this. Leather overlays and rubber overlays add to the new visual language.
«The overall idea was to keep all the durability and functionality of a skate shoe and add the comfort and cushioning of an everyday shoe», says Nathanial Iott, director of footwear design at Vans.
In this first drop of the EDVNT UltimateWaffle, we find the model dressed in blue and grey color schemes. The asymmetrical perforated leather upper and the inverted iteration of the classic Vans Sidestripe finish off the disruptive design.
EVDNT ULTIMATEWAFFLE X KIDS
Vans has also created a mini version of the EVDNT UltimateWaffle for all the cool kids out there. Its application of skate shoe technology makes it an ideal everyday silhouette. The perforated suede construction with a kid-specific design and soft mesh upper enhances breathability and durability.
The boundaries between aesthetic and conceptual are thus blurred in these EVDNTs, of which a baby iteration has also been designed with Velcro fastening and elasticated laces.
