Paying a moving tribute to Virgil Abloh’s dreams, Louis Vuitton rescued up to eight seasons of his work. However, the clothes took a back seat to interpretation.
Through the “House of Louis’ Dreams” the French fashion house presented to the public the latest menswear collection designed by Virgil Abloh for the Fall/Winter 2022 season. The show began with The 8th Field, a cinematic prelude and then focused on poetry recited by Kai-Isaiah Jamal, the designer’s favourite poet.
In this way, the designs followed one after the other, until all the themes and messages that Abloh worked on during the eight seasons he was at the helm of the creative direction of Louis Vuitton were recovered. All this while various acrobats danced and jumped on the surreal stage.
The aim was not to show the public innovative designs, but to pay tribute to the enormous legacy Virgil has left us. If you missed the show, don’t worry, you can watch it below:
