Britney Spears reveals she had an abortion during her relationship with Justin Timberlake

The book full of revelations of the artist will be released on October 24.

Britney has shared for the first time that she became pregnant during her relationship with Justin Timberlake. “It was a surprise, but for me it wasn’t a tragedy,” she wrote. Justin’s response was that they were “too young” to have a child at that point in their lives.

“I loved Justin very much. I always hoped that someday we would have a family together. This would be much sooner than I had anticipated. But Justin was definitely not happy about the pregnancy. He said we weren’t ready to have a baby in our lives.”

Spears reveals that they ended up making the decision to abort. “If it had been up to me alone, I never would have done it,” she wrote in the forthcoming book Gallery Books, from Simon & Schuster. “And yet Justin was so sure he didn’t want to be a father.”

The couple went public in 1999, more than two decades ago now, and ended up separating a few years later. Both have gone on to become parents in subsequent relationships, and while they have clearly long since moved on, some fans continue to comment and debate the relationship.

Spears’ book includes many more revelations from the artist, including an interview in which she explains the real reason she shaved her head in 2007.
