The worlds of fashion and music are intersecting once again, and this time Bad Bunny is clearly playing both sides. What appeared to be yet another iconic appearance at the 2026 Met Gala ended up sparking a fairly solid theory: the artist could be preparing his official entry into the fashion business under his real name, Benito Antonio. And no, it’s not just fan hype—there are some pretty well-connected clues.
It all began months before the red carpet, when some fans spotted interesting activity in intellectual property records. Under the full name Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, trademark applications were filed in the United States and Singapore, focusing on key categories such as clothing, accessories and leather goods. Moves like this are rarely coincidental, and even less so when we’re talking about an artist who has already demonstrated a vision that extends beyond music.
His appearance at the gala was, shall we say, the perfect ‘soft launch’. Dressed in a bespoke black suit created in collaboration with Zara, Bad Bunny not only reaffirmed his status as a style icon, but also dropped further hints in a rather deliberate manner. The collaboration, which follows on from previous joint projects, has led many to wonder whether Zara could be more than just a one-off partner in this potential foray into the fashion business.
But the detail that really set alarm bells ringing came courtesy of a Vogue video. In a ‘Get Ready With Me’ video, a new ‘Benito Antonio’ logo with an almost hieroglyphic aesthetic could be seen, printed on both his make-up chair and the inside of his blazer. A nod far too specific to be a coincidence. With no official confirmation yet, but with all these signs on the table, everything points to Bad Bunny being on the verge of an announcement.
