After four years and six collections, Alexander Wang and adidas Originals end their collaboration contract. They say goodbye in style with a very futuristic streetwear show FW19. The sports brand and the New York firm show the technology of their designs through digital images that present an industrial chain production.
This promising relationship began in September 2016. From the beginning, this shared design was a success. The adidas Originals emblem was rotated 180 degrees to create the hallmark that recognized Wang‘s presence. Recently, the sports brand has flirted with Prada, earlier this month the result was revealed. For many the expectation surpassed the proposal.
Alexander Wang x adidas Originals FW19
Wang is characterized by maintaining an innovative, sensual and daring DNA that is palpable in this work. The new FW19 range presented together with adidas Originals has been conceived around the “Club Leisure” concept. The whole proposal is unisex and preserves the roots of classic streetwear focused on the future.
Sportswear is increasingly present in our style and daily looks. The complete selection goes from underwear to quilted jackets. Using intense black and striking metallic silver tones. The garments have a bold look with retro cycling elements. Fitted pieces that capture the shape of the body are combined with looser pieces that provide more ease and comfort.
Four years of work resulted in six collections
At the heart of the collaboration are three silhouettes of slippers. Each of them offers two different shades and a wider sole. We first saw the Puff Trainer model in 2018, the originality lies in the disappearance of the lace fit and the incorporation of a high cut sock collar. The Bball Soccer resembles the more traditional form of adidas Original. Finally, the Turnout Trainer has the sportiest look.
The entire FW19 collection is now available on the official adidas website.
