CHICA Festival comes to the capital thanks to the CHICA collective

CHICA comes to the Teatro Eslava with an eight-hour party with the most innovative, underground, experimental and wild national and international talent.

After several months without a party in their hometown, CHICA returns to Madrid this Sunday 1 May at Teatro Eslava to present CHICA Festival. This is a micro-festival celebrating their work after five years of survival as an independent, feminist and LGBT+ music collective, always working to create a space for their community in the Madrid nightlife.

CHICA, made up of Rocío Torres, Alba Loughlin and Caesar Arenas, is a platform created with the intention of promoting female and LGTBIQ+ art, as well as creating a safe space in the Madrid nightlife. An initiative that has evolved to become one of the most established collectives in the community, with more than twenty editions and various national and international artists such as Danny L Harle, Juguete, Bossy LDN, Mad Bad Ting, CHICOBLANCO, Voodoo Club, Ghazal, Dinamarca, DJ Florentino, Nadine Artois…

CHICA Festival brings us everything the collective has always been committed to. From the best of Spain’s emerging underground talent to the most cutting-edge electronic sounds with the greatest international projection.

The festival proposes to introduce us to an alternate dimension parallel to the original one. A place that maintains the same locations as reality but differs in the life that exists in it. On the other side there is no human life. There are different disembodied forms of inhabiting it. A sensorial echo of our dimension created through the union of image, music and colour.

CASUAL GABBERZ, a French collective and label that promotes pure rave and chemically altered sounds. Also making their debut in Madrid is France’s SENTIMENTAL RAVE with their heart-stopping romantic hardcore.

horsegiirL will give his first international show at the festival, with his cute horse head and sounds that hit like one punch after another.

The live show of the night will be brought to us by the young lehendakari EUSKOPRINCESS, who will be premiering her mixtape Hollywood Star-System.

Barcelona-based American DJ SOFTCHAOS will be with the girls that night, pushing the tensions of their sounds to the limit. From Granada and Berlin come the B2BBS, an all-female trio of DJs who turn their city’s electronic scene upside down.

Madrid talent will be brought by the always energetic JUGUETE, ready to make us play with their euphoric, electronic and aggressive rhythms, and the hosts of the night CHICA GANG, who will accompany this line-up as they know best, with pure thrash and emotion.

 

The collective has been internationally recognised by participating as curators of the programme of one of the nights of the Boiler Room Festival in Barcelona; and also participating as DJs for the second time, after their first Boiler Room in 2019. All this career has made them a national electronic music proposal with great international projection.
