Y2K nostalgia and admiration for the graphic universe that catapulted Custo Barcelona to success once again conquered the catwalk at the ABRA fashion show held yesterday.
Custo Barcelona, which achieved worldwide fame in the early 2000s, has returned to the catwalks. The fashion show of Spanish designer Abraham Ortuño, better known as ABRA, was the setting for the presentation of the collaboration that unites the creative universes of both brands.
A proposal for next winter born from nostalgia, admiration and a return to the Y2K aesthetic that characterises ABRA, which has wanted to pay tribute to the unique universe of Custo Dalmau.
In this way, the collaboration recovers the mythical illustrations that 20 years ago put the name of Custo Barcelona in the international creative imaginary. It was the printing of these illustrations on T-shirts that brought him to the fashion scene, and his creations were worn by Julia Roberts, Phoebe from Friends and Miranda from Sex and the City.
“The fact that ABRA has chosen us for this capsule collection is an honour. Their creativity is equal or greater than ours and I think that this alliance should contribute a lot to the fashion scene” says Custo.
