Fashion brands enter the restaurant business

The big fashion brands are no longer just outlining the trends for the coming season and making garments, but have also expanded their market through restaurants.

Fashion is not an independent industry anymore. Every day it is more frequent for artists to be multidisciplinary and brands more versatile than ever. That’s why the big fashion brands are not only dedicated to perfecting what will be the trends of the next season and make garments but have also expanded their market through cosmetics, perfumes or accessories. But they don’t have to be complementary goods, many brands have already ventured into the hostelry sector.

Customers no longer settle for anything. In addition, brands used to trends and the frenetic pace of catwalks know better than anyone that they have to keep innovating to attract the attention of consumers. That’s why more and more designers have their own restaurant.

From luxury hotels that carry his name to restaurants and cafes decorated with the spirit of the brand, the 360 degree experience has become the desire of all luxury homes.

These stores are located in the cities where the most important fashion shows of the entire fashion week calendar are held: Paris, London, Milan or New York.

After the recent opening of Jacquemus’ new café in Paris and Raf Simons’ new facet as a furniture designer presented in a cafeteria, we decided to review which brands have a gastronomic business and where to find it:

Chanel Beige

Fashion Restaurants

It is located on the top floor of the Chanel Ginza building and in both the decoration and the menu Chanel has collaborated. The place, designed by Peter Marino, represents the best French cuisine with the best products of Japan thanks to chef Alain Ducasse. Without a doubt, a tribute to Coco Chanel.

Dior Coffee

Fashion Restaurants

On this occasion, Peter Marino, the same architect from Beige, designed the premises of this café in Seoul. In addition, its products are designed by the pastry chef Pierre Hermé. Under the roof of the Dior flagship in the South Korean capital you can enjoy a menu that evolves according to the season but in which ice cream, chocolates and pastas stand out, but above all macarons.

Bar Martini de Dolce & Gabbana

Fashion Restaurants

It is the oldest of its premises because after its success, D&G decided to open the Martini Bistrot for lunches and dinners. On the other hand, they also opened a replica of the Bar Martini in Bogotá. The bar with a baroque style, very characteristic of the brand, is inspired by the Milanese atmosphere of the 1950s.

Just Cavalli and Cavalli Club

Fashion Restaurants

Two restaurants that at night become the most select nightclubs in their cities, Milan and Dubai. Both venues have an ostentatious and luxurious decoration, very typical of the designer’s creations. In Spain there are also clubs in Marbella and Ibiza.

Thomas’s de Burberry

Fashion Restaurants

You can find him at the mythical Regent Street in London. The restaurant, named after the company’s founder, is perfect for tea time. In addition, you can also enjoy the classic British dishes.

The Polo Bar

Restaurante de moda

A tribute to the sporting aesthetics of Polo Ralph Lauren located on Fifth Avenue in New York. In the Polo Bar, located a few metres from the firm’s flagship store, you can enjoy the designer’s favourite dish: a cheeseburger. But this is not the only place, it has Ralph’s in Paris, the RL in Chicago or the Ralph’s Coffe in New York.

Le Frank (Louis Vuitton Foundation)

Restaurante de moda

Created by Frank Gehryl, it is located in Paris, specifically in the Bois de Bologne park. There you can have breakfast, lunch and dinner French food devised by Jean Louis-Nomicos, Chef Star Michelin.

Vivienne Westwood Café

Restaurante de moda

Vivienne’s bold spirit is transferred to her catering business, both in Asia, one in Shanghai and one in Hong Kong. In them you will find the most risky gastronomic proposals.

Le 68 Guy Martin de Guerlain

Restaurante de moda

The restaurant is named after Guy Martin, one of the great French chefs. The chef decided to collaborate with Guerlain to prepare the menu for the restaurant. It is located in the Champs Elisées of Paris and has several menus, one of them inspired by Guerlain’s perfumes.

Bar Luce (Prada Foundation)

Restaurante de moda

This peculiar space in Milan was designed by Rem Koolhaas and the architectural firm OMA. Although the space in the centre itself is entirely dedicated to art, inside there is a bar called Bar Luce, which resembles the reconstruction of a film set. It may have to do with the fact that it is designed by American filmmaker Wes Anderson.

But we don’t just find this trend outside the country. In Spain, there are also designers who have followed this fashion of having your own restaurant or cafeteria. Adolfo Dominguez has his own Coffee Lounge on Calle Serrano in Madrid. On the other hand, in Barcelona you can find the Bistrot & Champagne Bar of Santa Eulalia.
