Launched in March, Helmut Lang’s “Stay At Home” competition has finally resulted in the launch of three exclusive T-shirts.
Jade Ayla from Johannesburg, Christina Lehmkuhl from Berlin and Max Peters from the Netherlands were selected from over 2,250 entries. Now their dream has come true and their illustrations have been applied to original Helmut Lang tees to be released on the market.
Each creative presented an original work of art – be it a drawing, painting, illustration, photograph or graphic – “inspired by Helmut Lang,” the brand explained in a press release. The resulting creations are diverse and stimulating, each with a different focus on the same context.
Ayla’s “Look Mom” T-shirt is the most fun, with a stylized text that says “Look Mom I Designed a Tee for Helmut Lang” with emphasis on “Mom” and “Helmut Lang” – our favorite -. Lehmkuhl opted for a successful design with “Mask“, which shows a graphic that demonstrates how to remove and transform the sleeves of the tee into a washable face mask, subtly referring to an old Helmut Lang feature: the sleeveless tee. Finally, Peters‘ “Painting” T-shirt shows a clearly made-up face on the Helmut Lang brand.
The t-shirts are now available on the Helmut Lang website and on the Helmut Lang flagship in New York.
