Lacoste unveils ‘Après-Court’ creative series at Roland-Garros 2022

For the French Open in Paris, Lacoste presents a series of photos with a different aesthetic from the Roland-Garros collection.

Since René Lacoste first wore polo on the court in 1933, Lacoste has been bringing its unparalleled sense of style to the world of tennis. For the French Open in Paris, Lacoste presents a series of photos with a distinct aesthetic of the Roland-Garros collection and other pieces to celebrate the style and fashion surrounding the game on and off the court.

Lacoste proposes a series of creative photos under the general theme of Après-Court. Inspired by the idea of Après-Ski, a custom that is arguably bigger than the sport itself. Après-Court, like its winter relative, aims to bring together a community of classic and new tennis fans beyond the court.

Bringing together the immense heritage that surrounds both Lacoste and Roland-Garros, Après-Court combines creativity, culture and fashion in a way never seen before at a tournament. To be experienced both between matches and across Paris and digitally, the worlds of style and tennis merge, connecting audiences and uniting different communities in a fun and engaging way. All centred on the love of the game and the culture that surrounds it.

In the French capital, a few days before the start of the Roland-Garros tournament, French photographer Alex ‘Très Cool’ Doble reveals his vision of the fashion-sport silhouette by combining iconic pieces from the Lacoste collection for Roland-Garros. Moments of life stolen from the Parisian streets where key garments such as the polo shirt or the umpires’ cardigan are mixed with other fashion-sport to celebrate the style and culture of tennis beyond the stage of the competition.

You’ve seen the game.

Now enjoy the culture.

Sit back, relax and enjoy the Roland-Garros atmosphere at Après-Court.

Lifestyle Collection

The Roland-Garros 2022 collection is an ode to the brand’s sporting heritage.

Louise Trotter and her team took inspiration from sports clubs to create a very contemporary 2022 collection, anchored in the world of sport. The pieces in this lifestyle collection are based on the highlights of the latest Lacoste fashion shows. Oversize cuts, knitted jumpers, the coat of arms and the house’s stripes. Everything runs along the seams of this Roland-Garros 2022 collection.

On the collar, on the sleeve or on the top of the shorts, the stripes give style and movement to the silhouettes, both on and off the pitch. The coat of arms, representative of the sports club, has been modernised. Always present on the pieces in the lifestyle collection, it brings a specific elegance to the Lacoste fashion-sport style. It is also very haute couture, with hand-woven effects, while the injected silicone material provides the sporty finish.

Performance Collection

More fashionable. More sporty. The Lacoste 2022 performance silhouette is designed as a playground where the brand’s two historical territories, sport and licking, are expressed in unison. In the design, mesh stripes and the use of laser cutting bring a futuristic style to the performance silhouette.

In fabrics, Lacoste is already shaping its future by creating new materials. For this 2022 edition, a jacquard mesh has been created exclusively for Roland-Garros riding. The Lacoste design studio was inspired by the classic jacquard associated with a graphic design by Robert Georges.

For the women, the riding of current world number 6 Ante Kontaveit has a shorter back, shows more skin, is more feminine, more fashionable and paired with a pleated skirt has a sporty feel that doesn’t lose an ounce of Lacoste heritage.
