Through the iconic sculpture ‘Flower Parent and Child’ created in collaboration in 2020.

The Kyocera Art Museum in Kyoto (Japan) will host until 1 September 2024 an extensive exhibition celebrating the impeccable career of the Japanese artist in a tour of more than 170 works including the recent Rakuchū-Rakugai-zu Byōbu: Iwasa Matabei RIP: a series of artistic pieces based on the theme of the four deities symbolising the four cardinal points; and other representative works.
Just outside the museum, floating in the lake that surrounds the building, stands the impressive 13-metre-high sculpture made in collaboration with Louis Vuitton. Designed to provide a “symbol of hope” during the crisis caused by the COVID pandemic, Murakami‘s endearing flower is accompanied by a small version of herself, representing her son, on a huge multicoloured monogrammed boot.
