Natalia Lacunza continues to carve out her path in Spanish alternative pop with the announcement of her second studio album, N2STAL5IA, set to be released on 21 November. The Pamplona-born artist has also revealed the album cover, which reflects this new creative stage characterised by introspection, sonic experimentation and deeply personal emotional sensitivity.
Alongside the album announcement, Natalia has released Singapur, the final single ahead of the album. The track is a piece of synthetic pop with electronic influences, written by Natalia Lacunza, Pau Riutort and Diego Domínguez Jorquera (Diego900), and produced by Pau Riutort.
The song stands out for its elegant minimalism, enveloping basslines and hypnotic atmosphere, inviting both dance and reflection. On the track, Lacunza comments: “Singapur is the strangest and most special song I’ve ever made. If you’re a girl, a boy, or someone lost in the big city, this song is for you.”
The album centres on nostalgia as a transformative emotion. According to the artist, it speaks of clinging to the familiar, whether good or bad, of resisting change, and the loneliness of feeling alien in a place that once felt like home. Lacunza summarises the essence of the album as turning melancholy into beauty and resilience.
Throughout the record, the singer explores themes such as heartbreak, the loss of ideals, and personal reconstruction. Her sound combines intimate alt-pop, introspective R&B and electronic landscapes, reflecting an artistic maturity that redefines her style.
