It’s been less than a year since New Balance first introduced the 991v2 silhouette, making an impressive debut alongside Stone Island. Since then, the iconic brand has launched a series of projects around the model. The latest comes from designer Salehe Bembury. Via Instagram, Bembury has revealed that he will be the next to add his unique touch to the 991v2, previewing their collaboration during Copenhagen Fashion Week.
In the two-image preview we can see that the upper of the trainer features a rugged suede in a rich purple hue, while a blue adorns the tongue label, which highlights the duo’s joint branding in orange. Other touches of colour include green on the lining, white on the midsole, grey on the toe overlays, and black on the outsole and outlines of the “N” logo. A final lime green detail on the toe cap adds a distinctive touch to the design.
Although neither New Balance nor Salehe Bembury have released official details about this collaboration, expectations are high.
We confirm that Salehe Bembury will reissue the Puma Hoops silhouette.
