The 2nd edition of Allianz EGO Confidence in Fashion will boost creative and entrepreneurial development

Allianz consolidates its collaboration with MBFWMadrid and continues its commitment to the future and young talent of Spanish fashion.

Allianz consolidates its collaboration with MBFWMadrid and continues its commitment to the future and young talent of Spanish fashion. Together with the sponsorship of Allianz EGO, the most relevant platform for emerging designers at national level, the company represents a second edition of the Allianz EGO Confidence in Fashion award.

With this recognition, Allianz seeks to promote the creative and professional development of one of the fifteen designers participating in the Allianz EGO Showroom. The prize will have an economic endowment of 6,000 euros, with which the winner will be able to make a new collection a reality, which they will present at the next edition of the Allianz EGO catwalk in September 2022. In addition, he or she will receive professional advice for six months to strengthen his or her brand, from the ESNE University School. With this recognition, which is part of a global project ‘Confidence in Tomorrow’, the company wants to accompany these creators in the first steps of their promising careers.

A professional jury will get to know the participants and their creations first-hand by visiting the Allianz EGO Showroom, where the designers will have their collections on sale during the course of MBFWMadrid. In addition, the aspiring designers will make a presentation of their brand and proposals to the panel of experts of this edition, formed by Alejandro Gómez Palomo, creative director of Palomo Spain; Ana Larrañaga, director of trade fair business of IFEMA, representing MBFWMadrid; Andrés Aberasturi, curator of Allianz EGO; and Maruca García Paredes, director of the Fashion Department of the ESNE School.

“After the success of the first edition of the Allianz EGO Confidence in Fashion Award, we are looking forward to discovering the talent of the 15 new designers who will participate in this second edition. At Allianz, we want to support the future of Spanish fashion, providing them with the tools to make their projects grow. As we have been doing in other areas of culture and sport with our ‘Confidence in Tomorrow’ initiative, with this event we seek to reward and promote the values of these young creators such as hard work and passion” says Francisco García Vegas, General Manager and head of the Commercial and Market Management Area of Allianz Seguros.

15 new participants

In this second edition, the event will feature the participation of 15 emerging brands that, through their creations and business projects, represent the future of fashion in Spain. The brands participating in this edition of Allianz EGO Confidence in Fashion are: Anel Yaos; David Catalán; Ele; Evade House; FÁTIMA MIÑANA; Goodption; Heaven Vision; Joss Blake; Laretta; LIBÉRRIMO; MARLO STUDIO; Morle; NIMPH; REPARTO and The Artelier.

Among the candidates, we find committed proposals with a strong social component, with designers who seek to break down barriers and stereotypes. In addition, there is a focus on the importance of a sustainable future for fashion, with recycled fabrics; techniques such as upcycling to give a second life to old garments and a special focus on local production and trade.

In addition to competing for the Allianz EGO Confidence in Fashion award, the designers will present their proposals and sell their creations in the Allianz EGO Showroom; an exceptional showcase within the framework of MBFWMadrid.

New Allianz EGO fashion show day to give visibility to women’s football

The Allianz EGO platform is organising a new day of fashion shows on Sunday, 13 March. Along with the presentation of the Allianz EGO Confidence in Fashion award, attendees will be able to discover the proposal that Rubearth, the winning brand of the September 2021 edition of the event, has been working on in recent months. The fashion show will feature the participation of LaLiga ambassadors Anair Lomba, former RCD Espanyol player; and Aintzane Encinas, former Real Sociedad player; and LaLiga Genuine Santander players Sandra García and Rosalía Fernández. The four sportswomen will present some of the Galician designer’s creations on the catwalk. In this way, Allianz EGO wants to unite the world of sport and fashion; and give visibility to women’s football and the inclusion of people with disabilities, from its platform.

He will be accompanied by the fashion shows and proposals of the brands Alejandre; Compte; Emeerree; Georgiela Studio; Guillermo Décimo; Juan VG; NIMPH and REPARTO; as well as the guest designer of the Mercedes-Benz Prague Fashion Week.

A competition to support the future of Spanish fashion

The first edition of the Allianz EGO Confidence in Fashion award, held last September, was born from a need detected in the Spanish fashion sector; that of promoting the entrepreneurial vision of young creators to grow their creativity and bring commercial viability to their brands. Allianz now presents the second edition of this recognition; which is part of its global project ‘Confidence in Tomorrow’ and aims to show how entrepreneurs, entities and individuals make the future hopeful for our society; as the Allianz Ego platform does in the Spanish fashion sector.
