The iconic return of MadeMe and its riot girls

After two years of silence and inactivity, New York streetwear brand MadeMe and its riot girls are once again making noise in fashion.

After two years of silence and inactivity, New York streetwear brand MadeMe and its riot girls are back to make noise, break barriers and subvert urban fashion codes.

The ’90s “girls, for girls” brand is once again expanding to feature the dynamics of today’s inner-city youth, as well as celebrating the countercultural style tribes and the pioneering women who led it.

Last week, MadeMe reconnected with the fashion world via Instagram, posting an image of a backside of a white denim jacket painted with an ANJ, angel wings, roses and a cursive Mademe. The caption message, as always, direct: “BACK AND NASTY AS FUCK.”

Erin Magee, its creative director, returns to come up with new concepts through design, after having collaborated with brands such as X-Girl and Converse, and having chosen Paloma Elsesser, Princess Nokia and Lourdes Leon as the image of the brand’s campaign.

For this new collection, the label presents a series of revamped iconic pieces such as the logo tees and strident 90’s and Y2K-inspired graphics. Although perhaps, among this textile amalgam, what can be highlighted is the airbrushed denim set by artist Ally Bo, as well as the maximalist rimless sunglasses with which to style your summer looks.

Magee has collaborated for the occasion with his photographer Mayan Toledano to take a photographic tour of four different spaces such as his Brooklyn apartment. His muses? Lourdes Leon and model Blair Broll in their “exotic princess” aesthetic and their LGTB+ vibes.
