This is the age at which you’re going to have the best sex

Although we may think that youth is the stage where we have the most sex and therefore the best sex, this is not entirely true. The older we get, the more we know about ourselves and our bodies. We tell you what age range might be the one in which you are going to enjoy your sexuality the most.

Contrary to what one might think, the age range in which sex is most practised is between 30 and 40 years old. This is according to a study carried out by the sex toy company Lelo, among more than 10,000 people from different countries, including Spain. They are the ones who have the highest number of sexual encounters, closely followed by the 25 and 30 age group.

According to the annual report by Singles in America, millennials who use Tinder and Grindr are not the ones who have the most satisfying sex. In fact, it’s their parents and grandparents: single women said in this study that the average age at which sex is most enjoyable is 66. For men, the average age goes down to 64.

In an interview with Andy Cohen, actress and writer Jane Fonda revealed that sexual wisdom is real and develops with age. “We waste too much time not wanting to say, ‘Wait a minute. No, no, no, no. Stop. A little to the left. For fear of upsetting. As young women, especially those who were raised as women, we were brought up to prioritise our feelings”.

Not expressing what you like is what leads to the worst sexual experiences. Communication with the partners you sleep with is key to maximum enjoyment, and that’s improving over the years. “I think women tend to get better because they lose their fear of saying what they need to,” she said. Concern for our pleasure versus our partner’s pleasure comes to the forefront.
