Vans and Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon pay tribute to love and friendship

This season, Vans and Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon are teaming up for a special four-part collaboration inspired by the legendary anime’s beloved stories of love and friendship. 

The Classics footwear collection includes various designs in women’s, men’s and kids’ categories. The Sk8-Hi Stacked infuses fabrics with quarter satin and smooth leather overlays decorated with Sailor Moon‘s transformation clasp and bow. The designs feature a gradient printed sidewall with translucent heels and toe caps dressed with Sailor Guardians planet symbols.

Sailor Guardians and Tuxedo Mask make an appearance on the Authentic as a tribute to the series’ notable characters. The Old Skool Patchwork features a clever patchwork print that highlights the great anime. Vans‘ iconic Checkerboard print is present throughout the style in signature colour combinations related to each Sailor Guardian.

Then the Sailor Guardian planet symbols reappear in a starry night-inspired design on another version of the Old Skool. The adult footwear assortment is rounded out by the La Costa Slide-On and a Sailor Guardians and ComfyCush Slip-On full of Dark Kingdom.

For the collection’s clothing line, the women’s BFF Crew Fleece is inspired by Sailor Moon‘s heroic sailor costume. The men’s short sleeve graphic tee features a powerful image of Sailor Moon with the famous Moon Stick. The Vans Checkerboard print surrounds Sailor Moon and “Off The Wall” is printed on the navy blue T-shirt.

The look is completed with the official Vans and Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon logos. The stars align with the Jockey Curved Bill featuring Sailor Moon on the front with a star patch and embroidered detailing. A pair of backpacks are also included.

 

Next up is the Vans x Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon by Lizzie Armanto Skate range. The collection of footwear, apparel and accessories evokes a DIY approach with an old-school feel, led by Vans‘ new silhouette, The Lizzie, the first Vans skateboarding shoe designed by a woman in 20 years. The footwear range offers three Vans Skate Classics styles adorned with black and white graphic collages depicting Sailor Moon and Sailor Guardians. The Skate Old Skool and Skate Slip-On combine heritage styling with a punk-inspired theme.

The crown jewel of the footwear collection, The Lizzie gets the full Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon treatment. Created to offer something completely different to a wider range of skaters whose needs are not being met, the Lizzie features a new vulcanised construction with a lower profile side foxing strap, an exposed radiused sole edge and flex grooves for a stable, rolling feel. The universal fit features the perfect amount of EcoCush™ cushioning, increasing board feel for a wider range of skaters. The new 3D Embossed DURACAP™ toe cap and Sidestripe have even more durability in high wear areas, while the new micro-waffle tread and Sick-Stick™ rubber offer maximum grip.

Lizzie Armanto’s Vans x Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon collection features a similar aesthetic in black and white tones on a BFF-fit hoodie with anime artwork on the front and checkerboard detailing on the sleeves, and a reversible bucket hat with a Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon logo patch in a solid black colour and checkerboard detailing and Vans logo patch on the reverse.

The third exciting release debuts the new Vans Old Skool Overt CC, the latest style to join the ComfyCush family. The Vans x Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Old Skool Overt CC features a sculpted ComfyCush foam midsole with Sailor Moon‘s portrait outlined and Sailor Moon‘s companion, Luna, sketched on the side quarters.

Vans‘ iconic Checkerboard appears in monochrome black and grey tones stretched along the heel, complemented by pops of pink embroidery along the upper and midsole, and Sailor Moon‘s iconic transformation brooch on the laces completes the look.

 

Designed with a roomier, sportier fit, the Old Skool Overt CC features a rubber sole plate for grip and traction, and overtly comfortable vibes thanks to additional foam along the shoe’s collar, tongue and quarter panels. A symbol of self-exploration and innovation, the Old Skool Overt CC‘s 360-degree sculpted midsole features a compression channel crumple zone, while a removable moulded sockliner offers added comfort.

Fans will also be able to design their own Vans Classics Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon exclusively through the Vans Customs platform. Three new prints are now available at vans.eu/customs featuring fan-favourite characters Sailor Moon and the four Sailor Guardians, Luna, Artemis and more.
