Walter Van Beirendonck FW22: voluminous silhouettes, lightweight fabrics and lots of black

Walter Van Beirendonck is betting on voluminous silhouettes becoming the protagonists of the next autumn/winter season.

“Otherworldly”. That is the title with which the member of the Antwerp Six, Walter Van Beirendonck, has christened his latest Autumn Winter collection, characterised mainly by voluminous silhouettes and the colour black.

Presenting his proposal in a futuristic and dark environment and letting the latter take over part of his looks, W.V.B. has left in the background (but not forgotten) the neon tones to give way to what many call the most elegant and “cool” colour, black.

Fitting in perfectly with this, another of the features that caught our attention when writing this review were the various lightweight fabrics that the designer used, such as neoprene, creating an effect similar to crocodile skin. In addition, the accentuated waists and shoulder pads have been other clear protagonists, especially the rounded shape, since like other designers, Walter has wanted to pronounce them and offer different levels of volume. Finally, the futuristic touch was provided by the masks with printed eyes and mouths or the XL glasses (ideal for going incognito) that Van Beirendonck designed in collaboration with Komono.

If you are a lover of black, this is the collection for you, so take a look at the gallery and enjoy the autumn/winter 22 collection by Walter Van Beirendonck.
