For this version of the Big Bang GMT, it couldn’t be any other shade but black, Yamamoto’s favorite color, from the hands to the case and strap. A transparent face reveals the complication that lies within, with the Yamamoto logo emblazoned under the Hublot brand on the smoked sapphire crystal.

This collection is limited to only 50 pieces and includes the watch’s GMT function that allows for the dual display of two different time zones.

“We are proud to celebrate the opening of our new flagship boutique in Tokyo with fashion superstar Yohji Yamamoto,” said Hublot CEO Ricardo Guadalupe in a statement. “This limited edition All Black that we have created together expresses simple beauty through the fusion of Yohji Yamamoto’s black design signature and the complicated GMT manufacturing process.

“This watch can easily show the time zones of the two cities where I am based, Tokyo and Paris,” Yamamoto continued. “Besides, the hours are invisible. As a person who is not always communicative, I find it very amusing. I am pleased to have been involved in creating this model to celebrate the opening of the Hublot Boutique in Ginza, a unique, famous and iconic district of Japan.

The new Hublot boutique in Ginza will exclusively feature Yamamoto’s Big Bang watch when it opens in May. Although the price has not been confirmed, it will probably be in five figures, in line with most other Big Bang watches.
